Cancer Association of Anderson

Catch a Ride with the C-Dragons!

Cancer survivors and their supporters are invited to learn about dragon boating in Huo Li, the beautiful dragon boat. What’s a dragon boat? It's a 40-foot long canoe with a dragon head and tail, paddled by 20 people in perfect synchronicity (if all goes well...), a steersperson guiding their course and a drummer keeping them together by beating a large wooden drum. The C-Dragons of the Cancer Association of Anderson enjoy exercise and camaraderie created in their “floating support group” on Hartwell Lake.

Want to get involved?  The team paddles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Big Water Marina near the Hartwell Dam. E-mail Dondi Barnhart, C Dragons president, at s.dondi@att.net or team captain Vicky Wilson at vwilson@greenville.k12.sc.us.

See the dragon boat at Broadway Lake Family Day!
The C-Dragons will be paddling and offering rides on Saturday, Sept. 18th at Broadway Lake. For information on the festival, contact Peg Ivey at 296-8000.

Buy a scale on the dragon!

Under the menu "I would like this donation to be used for", click "Dragon Boat Program" and be sure and fill in the name of the person you want on the scale under "Dedication."
