March 9: Cancer Association Executive Director Kathryn Smith marks 10 years since her diagnosis with breast cancer! Friends new and old are invited to join her at Matty's Downtown at 11:30 a.m. for a dutch treat lunch. Donations to CAA are welcome!
March 10: Cancer Association celebrates its 7th birthday with cake, balloons and the dedication of the Peace Pole donated by the Montessori School of Anderson. Dedication at 10 a.m., refreshments served until noon. Gifts appreciated! See "Our Needs" page for ideas.
March 12: Pink in the Park girls' softball game, Belton-Honea Path vs. Palmetto, at Palmetto, 5:30 p.m. Benefiting Cancer Association of Anderson.
April 9: "Honoring Our Loved Ones," a banquet and silent auction in memory of Linda Geer, will be held at Welfare Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children. Entertainment by singer Elizabeth Anderson. For tickets, contact Shirley Davis at 353-3186 or come by the Cancer Association of Anderson office.
April 16: Greater Anderson Rotary Club presents "Dancing for Our Heroes," a dinner and dance competition, at the Civic Center of Anderson. 6:30 p.m. Bill Forrest and Mary Ann McBride are dancing for CAA! Check out Dancing for Our Heroes on Facebook. Tickets are available at CAA. $35 for one or $60 for two, includes dinner. Patron tickets, with reserved seating beside the dance floor, are $75 for one or $125 for two.
May 1: Montessori School of Anderson presents the Diagnostic Radiology CAARES Race to Overcome, a 1-mile, 5k and sanctioned half-marathon race. Registration information will be available on active.com later this winter.
