Many schools, businesses and organizations helped raise money for the Cancer Association of Anderson in the past month. Here is a partial list:
- Trinity Methodist Church raised almost $1,500 for CAA at their October Pumpkin Patch. Several other charities benefited from this great event. Many thanks to Sue Allbrook for petitioning the church outreach committee to include CAA.
- Skin's Hot Dogs is still selling "Doggin' for a Cure" tee shirts at their 11 locations in the Upstate. They've raised over $1,800 -- so far! We've got shirts at our office, too. They are $11 each.
- The Wren High School's Golden Hurricanes honored breast cancer survivors at their game Oct. 28 with Laurens High School. All the coaches wore special pink tee shirts. Thanks to Coach Jeff Tate, Booster Club President Dan Cooper, Principal Robbie Binnicker and all the folks at the high school for this fund-raiser for the Cancer Association of Anderson. It raised over $1,500.
- S.C. State Fire Chiefs Association sold "Fight Like a Chief" tee shirts and raised $500.
- St. Paul First Baptist Church raised $250 with a Pink Sunday collection.
- Anderson Alternative School faculty and staff had a Jeans for a Cure in-service day and raised $300.
- Chick-fil-A sold pink milkshakes for CAA and raised $175.
- Panera Bread Company sold Pink Ribbon Bagels for us at all eight Upstate cafes -- we're eagerly waiting their report. Mmm, were those bagels good!
