Now That's a BIG Check!!!
The Wren High School Athletic Booster Club raised $1,434 for the Cancer Association of Anderson with a Canes vs. Cancer football game in October. Employees of Bank of Anderson Angie Gibert, left, and Martha Smith were amused when CAA Executive Director Kristin Williams jokingly brought the “big check” in to deposit. A normal size check was also presented and went in the bank just fine. At far right is Bank of Anderson President Jimmy Kimball. The Hurricanes sold pink tee shirts to raise money and all players work something pink in the game against Laurens High School.
The Cancer Association of Anderson was founded in March 2003 by a group of cancer survivors, health care professionals and community leaders who want to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and survivors and their families living in Anderson County, S.C.
The charming 100-year-old home that houses our office belongs to Dr. Rajeev Malik, and we appreciate so much his generosity in providing us this beautiful home!
Our Services Include:

Up to $1,000 a year in assistance for treatment-related expenses, including prescription medicine and gas to get to medical appointments -
Emotional support through support groups and free enrollment in AnMed Health's Oncology Rehab program and our own Survivor School.

Free new and gently used wigs, hats, breast prostheses and mastectomy bras -
A library of books and pamphlets -
Connection to other people who have fought cancer and survived. -
Referral to services here and elsewhere that will help cancer patients and their families - Loans of medical equipment in partnership with Anderson Lights of Hope
